Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this product right for me?

Enterprise Cloud plans are suitable for businesses and professionals prioritizing rapid scalability and growth.

  • What is the activation time?

Activation would take 2 to 3 minutes. Once activated, the servers can be deployed using our web-based installation wizard in 30 to 45 minutes.

  • Is this product white-label?

Our custom branding provides private-label hostname (e.g., mail.yourdomain.tld) and admin panel with personalized branding (custom brand name).

  • What do you mean by ‘unlimited users’?

With Mailcheap, you can create unlimited number of mailboxes belonging to unlimited number of domains. The only limit is the hardware resources (storage & compute) of the server.

  • Can I upgrade/downgrade my plan?

Plans can be upgraded up to EC-4000. All other upgrades/downgrades require migration (fully supported by Mailcheap and with minimal to no downtime). Additionally, split domain routing (SDR) enables you to scale horizontally across multiple mailservers instead of upgrading a single server.

  • How is my data secured?

Email data is encrypted in transit and all mailservers receive security updates daily. All plans utilize our Ceph storage architecture with 3x data replication to ensure maximum data availability & integrity. Additionally, data can be restored from our offsite backup system where we keep rolling snapshots for the last 30 days.

  • Are there any sending/receiving limits?

Yes, as all our hosted email plans use Premium Relay (multi-relay system for high deliverability) by default. Premium relay can be turned off on request to remove limits.

  • Is there virus filtering?

Yes, spam and virus filtering are included as standard with all hosted email plans.

  • Is there an uptime or support SLA?

An SLA is currently not offered, but we strive to provide an uptime of 99.9% and to answer support queries within 12 to 24 hours. Our historical uptime averages can be seen from the status page.
